Adapta, the responsible sourcing solution!
At Adapta, our approach is based on these four fundamentals:
Use existing materials
materials
Encourage
eco-design
Adopt a circular economy approach
Reconcile desirability and eco-responsibility by selecting the finest materials
The project was inspired by an environmental and societal context, as well as growing regulations that are forcing companies to rethink their value chains and supply chains.
That's why Adapta revalues the finest materials by selecting the most beautiful leathers from the dead stocks of luxury suppliers.
This innovative intermediation model between leather suppliers and fashion designers avoids material waste and overproduction, and enables companies to offer Made in France or Made in Europe products to their customers.

Virginie Ducatillon, an IFM graduate, founded Adapta at the end of 2018 after a decade developing leather goods collections at several major luxury houses (Chanel, Hermès, Céline).
Marie-Anne Gauly then teamed up with Virginie after spending over fifteen years with pure players (Google, Leboncoin) in marketing and product management.
These two complementary profiles have set themselves the mission of fighting material waste and offering an innovative and responsible concept in the fashion sector.
Virginie explains how Adapta came into being:
"It was during my professional experience that I realized that in the warehouses of luxury houses and their suppliers, there was an incredible amount of beautiful, unused whole skins lying dormant, or even destroyed. This observation was the starting point for everything. At a time when fashion needs to reinvent itself and become more responsible, the question of materials is central! And nothing pollutes less than a material that's already been produced :)
That's why Adapta has put dead stock at the heart of its strategy, and decided to do its bit to help transform the fashion industry. The first focus was naturally leather, based on my experience, but Adapta will soon be able to supply its customers with textiles, again in line with this same approach."
